CBIBS Buoys Back in Water for Spring 2017

Submitted by admin on 04/10/2017

Following a winter out of the water to avoid potential ice damage--and for routine maintenance--three of the four buoys pulled for the 2016-17 winter have been redeployed.

Working with the U.S. Coast Guard, the NOAA CBIBS team has redeployed the Susquehanna, Patapsco, and Annapolis buoys. They are once again reporting observations, available via this website, free mobile apps, and the toll-free 877-BUOY-BAY.

The Upper Potomac buoy, when redeployed, will be a different buoy; testing of the new buoy platform is still in progress.
